The Omaha Metro Complex Railroad (OMCR) is a shortline start up established in November of 2006. OMCR is privately owned by a group of investors currently employed, or retired from Class One railroads around the United States. OMCR operations are expected to begin in April of 2007.

OMCR does not currently own any track. OMCR runs only on trackage agreements in the Omaha and Council Bluffs vicinity. OMCR leases a rail yard in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The lease includes about 30 miles of yard and industry tracks. OMCR has direct interchanges with four connecting carriers, and a capacity to store over 1000 railcars
